The decision to run for AAJ Parliamentarian was not one I made lightly.

Over the past few years, I have spent significant time reflecting on this opportunity and considering the immense responsibility it entails.

To ensure I was fully prepared for this role, I sought insights from AAJ leadership, past presidents, members, and staff colleagues. I wanted to truly understand what it means to hold office, the scope of the role, and the level of commitment required. As always, this incredible community, for which I am deeply grateful, was generous in sharing their wisdom and guidance.

It was equally important for me to gain a deeper understanding of how AAJ operates and the vital work of its various committees. With that goal in mind, I made it a priority to serve on key committees such as the Budget Committee, the Organizational Review Committee, the National Finance Committee, and the Executive Committee. These experiences provided me with invaluable insight into the inner workings of AAJ and the strategies that drive our organization forward.

Beyond learning from leaders and committee work, I also reflected on whether leading AAJ was how I wanted to spend the next chapter of my life. This is a significant commitment that spans several years—from 2025 through 2031—and I wanted to ensure this path aligned with my personal values and professional goals. To explore this further, I participated in mastermind sessions that challenged me to clarify my vision, evaluate my goals, and develop actionable strategies to bring them to life.

Perhaps the most important conversations I had were with my wife and family. Their unwavering support was essential in helping me make this decision, and it is with their encouragement that I have chosen to embark on this journey.

I am excited about the opportunity to serve AAJ in this capacity, and I am fully committed to the organization and its mission. I look forward to earning your trust and support as we continue to advance the critical work of protecting civil justice for all.
